I start my complete album posting with this Paulinho Nogueira album of 1963. I have many Nogueira albums in my collection and for me this is perhaps one of his best- even not his best album.
Paulinho Nogueira is a great guitarist who unfortanetley got never to be so famous as Baden Powell,Luiz Bonfa or Neco. This nice Nogueira album reminds me a little bit to Bonfa's great albums he recorded for Odeon in the 60's. Some tracks are instrumental and some with Nogueira's pretty warm voice. My favourite one is the vocal song (Moca da chuva-Track 2)- very lovely!! But all other songs are great, too.
Sit down ,close your eyes and enjoy !!

All the best

Oh, this is lovely! Thanks for notifying :)

If you haven't downloaded it already, I highly recommend the Sivuca share at the Martin Klasch blog.

I'm afraid I'm really an amateur when it comes to Brazilian music - order it from Dusty Groove and various other shops, also Modern Sound in Brazil. But I have little knowledge about the artists I buy. Still I love them. But I'm no expert like you are :)

Again warm thanks for this beautiful share. I'll try to look out for the re-releases you mention because I love collecting cds!

in brazil paulinho nogueira was more popular than baden or bonfá but for some reason never reach an international fame status. he was also a very respected guitar teacher and invented the craviola a kind of guitar that sounds like a harpsichord (jimmy page played it a lot); if you liked "moça da chuva" try to listen to this same song recorded by conjunto farroupilha. it's even better.

That's great to hear that Paulinho Nogueira was popular in Brazil.I know that it was always a problem for Baden that he was not so popular in his own country as outside Brazil.
Thanks also for the information about the Conjunto Farroupilha album- A friend has this LP and I will listen to it.
